Dr Bruce Retirement
We are sad to announce that after 30 years service, Dr Bruce will be retiring from the practice at the end of June. Due to current circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Bruce expressed her wish to reach out to the patients that she has served throughout her time with the practice:
This is just to let you know that I will be retiring from the practice at the end of this month, after 30 years in Bridgeton. I am sorry that the current circumstances mean that I will be unable to say goodbye to many of you in person. Thank you for allowing me into your lives, during good times and bad. It has been a privilege.
If you see me in the street, please say hello!
Wishing health and happiness to you all.
On behalf of the patients and staff at Main Street Medical Centre, we'd like to wish you a huge congratulations and all of the very best on your retirement.

Main Street Medical Centre is currently restricting access for the safety of all patients and staff.
The practice remains open for all essential problems but on the advice of Health Protection Scotland, we have put in place a telephone triage system to review all requests for GP appointments. This will continue until further notice.
We ask that any individual who have symptoms such as a cough of fever to self-isolate in line with national guidance. If you do not have these symptoms but someone in your household has developed a cough or fever, you should self-isolate for 14 days. If you have either of these symptoms, please DO NOT attend the surgery.
If you are self-isolating, you do not need a note from the GP. Please visit https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note and complete the online form. A copy of this will be sent to your e-mail.
If you do have coronavirus symptoms, please call NHS 24 on 111 as this should now be the first point of contact for all COVID-19 related symptoms, even during GP hours.
Please visit https://www.nhsinform.scot/ or our dedicated Twitter account which has been created to provide you with up-to-date guidance and information.
